Girls May Long Weekend 2018

Every year we go to my SIL/Friend Sharon's camp for a girls weekend.
For the last few years Sharon and I go up the day before my daughter's come up.
Here we are with beautiful Lake Superior in the background.
It is such a lovely view.

We spend most of our time crafting.
We started scrapbooking about 22 yrs ago and planned our first girls weekend trip to Winnipeg.
At that time we wanted to hit up Michael's Craft store as we didn't have any type of craft store in our city at that time....and boy we did some damage, lol.

For the last 3 years we have been having our own paint night...but we do it during the day as the light is better, lol.

My younger daughters were very particular on their skies and repainted their whole painting to get it just to their liking.
Which turned out beautifully.

Sawyer is the only boy allowed up for girls weekend as he came last year as well.
He had such fun playing with the bubbles that his mommy brought.

We always have a great time up at Sharon's camp.
Lots of creating, laughing, eating of junk food and late nights.

Onto My Day.
Wayne and I watch Sawyer about 3 days a week while his parents work.
I had told my girls that I would not be doing this (that was in my younger years) now I can't get enough of him....I do occasionally take a afternoon nap when he does though, lol.
This little guy loves to go outside and with the warm weather, he couldn't understand why I wouldn't let him wear his toque to play outside, lol.
He also does not like socks on....ever since he was a baby the first thing he would do when he got inside was to pull off his socks.

Sawyer also love to garden with his Grandpa and I and we picked up a few little garden tools for him.
He is such a cutie and we will be getting him all weekend...so wish me luck he doesn't miss his mommy and daddy too much.

Thank you for visiting me today and I hope you all have a Creative Day.

Where did the time go!?!

My husband informed me that I haven't blogged since May 10...so here is an update!

I enjoyed my last Friday Night Scrapbooking for the season.
Every Friday Night I host a scrapbooking/craft get together for my friends and I during the non-camping season ;)
It is a drop in so whoever can make it is welcome to come....I didn't get my friend Ingrid in the photo as she had left before we took this photo...which was a bit sad, as Ingrid makes everyone look great in her photos :)

The next day my daughter invited me over to celebrate Mother's Day with her.
Now that she is a mom herself, she wanted a relaxing Mother's Day on the Sunday.
Ashley and Tyler treated me to a yummy lunch and these warm donuts with caramel sauce was heaven.
After lunch, Ashley and I painted the nursery....as she is pregnant again, so I am going to be a grandma again 💕

Ashley doesn't want me to post any of the pictures I took of her painting, so here is my grandson Sawyer enjoying the painting roller, teehee.

On Mother's Day I was so impressed when my daughter's Heather and Kristy gave me this lovely card that they made.

I think they were pretty impressed with themselves as well.

Every year what I like to do on Mother's Day is to spend the day outside with the family and do yard work/garden and to just enjoy the outdoors.
It has become our tradition to each get our own pint of our favourite ice-cream as well, lol.

Here is my daughter Ashley on Mother's Day with her son (my grandson) Sawyer.

I have been spending a lot of time with this little cutie, when both his parents are at work.
Sawyer is just like his Grandma Tracy as he love spending time in my scrapbook room and playing with my supplies.
I have to say, I am surprised at myself as I let him reorganize my copic markers....but I have to put them in their proper place when we leave the room, lol

I have to apologize to all of you that have left comments on my past blog posts.
I always go back to visit you and check out what you have been up to...but blogger has changed a bit and I no longer get notifications of comments in my email...and that is how I would know who commented.
If anyone knows how I may be able to get the notifications back on to my email, please help me out 💗

I hope you all have very Creative Day

Happy Mother's Day Cards.

I was gifted some beautiful papers by a Canadian Company called "Paper-Garden.ca"
They are also hosting a fun "Mother's Day card challenge"(click the link to check out everyone's cards)...you can vote on your favourite card...but with me being in true procrastinator fashion, I made my cards the last day of the challenge.
I wanted to use this beautiful shimmery cardstock for my card.
I also used this cute image from Redonkulous Designs now named Redonkadoodles Designs and coloured it up with my Copic markers.

Here is the cardstocks that Paper-Garden.ca sent me.
Look at all of those pretty colours 💗
I wish you could see the shimmer in some of these papers.
They are all different paper weights. From really thick cardstock to very thin.

I wanted my grandson Sawyer to make his mommy a handmade card.....you know, start them when they are young, teehee.

I cut the base of the card out of the white thick cardstock, as well as the card front.
I then cut a heart shape out with my cricut to use as a mask.

Here is Sawyer and I making the card.
I put an old hair dying t-shirt on him so he wouldn't get his clothes dirty...but I should have had one on too, as he kept grabbing onto me, lol.
I found out Sawyer is like his grandma Tracy...he doesn't like dirty hands, lol.

What I wanted to do with this card was to have Sawyer put his finger prints all over the card.
But with him not liking dirty fingers...we only got a few fingerprints and then just used the Tim Holtz paint daubers to add the rest of the colour.

After adding the colour, I took the mask off of the card front to reveal the heart center.

I searched for a Mother's Day stamp in my never-ending stash..but I could not find one.
That was until I made the Mother and Son card above and found that one on one of my Julie Nutting Prima Doll stamps....but I think the "I love you" works just as well.

Here is the inside of Sawyer's Mother's Day card.
I figured we might as well use the heart mask inside of the card...and if I would have saw that stamp that was right in front of my face, I would have used that instead of my messy hand writing.

I am entering these cards in the following challenges.
Paper-Garden's Mother's Day challenge
Papercraft Business Challenge #6

If you are looking for some Mother's Day card inspiration, go and check out the other ladies that participated in these challenges :)

Have a Creative Day.

Sister's Ever So Sweet

Can you believe I created this layout a few years ago and haven't shared it yet!!
I have a journal that I check which videos I have edited, finalized and uploaded...I had not uploaded this one and I recorded exactly a year ago.
I thought I may have posted it here as I had my photo's watermarked...but nope, couldn't find it, lol.
So here it is....

This layout is of my 3 beautiful, loving and funny daughters.
I used this gorgeous Recollections "Union Square" papers.
I did a bit of stamping on the papers just for a little bit of an extra touch.

My daughter Ashley was doing a photo shoot of her and her sisters and these were the out-takes....which I thought were so fun and so them!
I added a paper doily that I inked up with some distress ink as well as the tag I inked and stamped.

I stamped the letters for "LOVE" and then inked the papers as well as back them in the brown cardstock.

With this being a Winter layout, I love the added touch of these snowflake charms.

I added some twine as well as stamped the pink hearts on the tag.
I also added this oh so pretty "Sisters forever" chipboard piece on the tag.

Here is my video with a bit more detail on this layout.

International Scrapbooking Day

This past Saturday was International Scrapbooking Day!!
I planned on just staying at home in my PJ's and crafting all day.
So I figured I'd invite anyone who wanted to, to drop by and craft with me.
Not thinking anyone would come by as we enjoyed my Friday Night Scrapbooking the night before.

I knew my friend Lynne would be there, as she (like me) is always game for spending crafty time together :)
So when I heard that 6 (I didn't get a photo of my friend Ingrid) other of my friends were going to come by, I was excited and decided to change out of my pj's and into some pants, lol.

My daughter went out and picked up some munchies for us and Myra brought us some persians...yummm,

And we can't forget my drink of choice 💗

I even completed a project!!!!

How did you spend International Scrapbooking Day?

Happiness Art Journal page

I have a couple of groups of friends that enjoy art journaling.
This group is new to art journaling and wanted to do some challenges.
My friend Lynne was the first one to pick our challenge and she decided on using a magazine and the word "Happiness"

I had no idea what I was going to do.
For one thing, I don't have any magazines...but I found a catalogue in the recycles 😉

I found these clocks in the flyer (catalogue) so decided to use them somehow.
As I was about to fall asleep, I came up with the saying "Happiness is Spending Time doing what you Love".
Now to figure out the rest of the page.

I knew I wanted to go more with the monochromatic look as my last page was so bright.
I started with spitzing my background with 2 different coloured browns and then used a stencil to ink the faint clock faces in the background.
I also cut some of these Tim Holtz clock dies out of black cardstock.
The girl was from a card I had made and given away years ago...I just did a copy of it from a photo of the card I took back then.
I then fussy cut the girl out and used her on the page.

Here is better close up look of the background.
I printed the quote up on my printer and then spritzed it with some ink sprays and inked around the edges with the same black Dylusions paint as I used on the whole page edges.

I thought I would share everyone's take on this challenge :)
I love that we each took it in a different direction.

I also did a process video with more detail.

Thank you all so much for visiting me today.

How to Make a Sofa Table

Like many of you, I like to create all over the house...especially in the living room when my husband and I watch a movie.
I was lacking some good lighting, so thought I would make a sofa table to put a lamp on.
I do many types of crafts and dabble in wood working as well :)

I made this back in 2016, but forgot to upload my video or a post on it...so here it is ;)
I picked up 1"x10" knotty pine boards and got to cutting.
I measured my couch to get the length I wanted for the table top, which I cut as 5'
I cut 3 legs at 32" each, as this is a little lower than the height of our couch.

I used these brackets to attach the legs to the underside of the top.
It is so sturdy!!
My daughter was actually standing on it, and it didn't budge.

Here is a bird's eye view of the Sofa Table in place behind our couch.

I also attached a power bar on the side to keep my chargers and lamp plugged in.

It turned out perfectly as I like that you can't see it behind the couch.

We have since purchased a new couch since I have made this...here it is behind our new couch :)

I made a video on how I put this Sofa Table together if you wanted to make your own :)
