I made the Design Team

I am so excited to tell you that I have been asked to be on the Design Team for Redonkulous Designs.
Kimberly from Justwordz is our team leader, and Sheryl, her niece, is the designer of these awesome digital images.
This is her first design team and I am honored to be a part of it.

Now if you know me, you know I am computer illiterate. So I will be practicing printing out these digital images and colouring them up.
If they only knew eh, lol.
You can check out my short bio and learn about the other ladies on the design team by visiting Kimberly's blog HERE :)

I was so nervous about trying out for this design team as I have never tried out for one before. I am on a few, but they had asked me, so I wasn't really putting myself out there.
I waited until the last minute to submit my cards as I was still unsure of myself.
So just some advice...you never know until you try :)

Hope you all have a creative Saturday :)

Strawberry Delight

Remember this image?
Remember my hand made paper?
Well, they finally made it on a card :)
Not a fancy card, but I wanted to keep the focus on my hand made paper because I love how it turned out ;)

I added a small cluster of flowers and a butterfly brad. I took the prongs off the brad and just adhered it to the flower.
I also drew in some grass on my image.

I had a bit of my hand made paper left, so I had to add it to the inside with my recipe card.

Onto My Day:
Look what we woke up to this morning.
I knew we were going to get more snow. We usually seem to have one last snow storm in April. But it is still disappointing to wake up to this when all the snow was gone.

Tonight was scrapbooking night, Sharon and Lynne came by. Lots of laughs and a great time.
Oh ya and remember that spending freeze my friend and I made a pact about. I come to find out that she was shopping already! She didn't even make a whole week, lol.
I am still going to go through with it :)
Even though hubby told me to give Heather the money to go and buy what I want, that way I am not technically buying anything, lol. What an enabler he is ;)

Hope you all had a creative Friday :)

Making my own background paper

Remember that image I coloured yesterday that I didn't have any strawberry paper, even though I really thought I did.
I was just going to use the watermelon paper that I had and not worry about it.
Well if you know me, I couldn't let it go. I NEEDED some strawberry paper or I wouldn't be happy ;)

I am on a no purchasing supplies freeze this month, so a trip to my LSS or Michael's wasn't an option.
Look how committed I am, wish I was as committed on the exercise front.
So I decided to make my own background paper.
I am really happy with how it turned out :)

So here is how I did it.
I have had this stamp for over 17 yrs. I know this as a fact because my SIL, Sharon bought it for me figuring I could use it for a craft for my kitchen when we first bought this house.
First I cut a piece of paper 6"x6".
Then I stamped randomly on my paper.

Here it is all stamped up. The top center didn't get stamped very dark, but I was planning on colouring it in, plus I am going to put my image on here, so I could work around the imperfections......Also, Wayne wanted me to watch a movie with him so I had to stamp fast, lol.

I coloured the images in with my Copic markers under my tiny desk lap as we watched a freaky movie.
Hopefully I will put my card together tomorrow during Scrapbooking Night.

Onto My Day:
I worked on my mini for Heather most of the day today.
I swear I must find the longest, most difficult ways to do things. I had only completed one page. Yup one page. It is a pretty cool page if I say so myself, but still one page.

Kristy stayed late at her Co-Op today as her school is having their grade 10 testing. Because she is in grade 11 she didn't have to go to school until the afternoon. She only has one class in the afternoon, so she would have only been there for about 1/2 hour, so she stayed home. She hates to miss any school at all, but she agreed with me on this one, lol. Plus the teacher asked them how many were going to be in class today, and only one person was going.
I find it funny that I have to convince my daughter to skip out, lol....I know, chalk me up for the bad mom award ;)

Hope you all had a creative Thursday :)

I got in the scrap/craft room

I did a bit of colouring tonight while watching Survivor.

Here is the cute Pure Innocence image I coloured.
Not the best photo though.
I thought, for sure, that I had some strawberry paper.
But when I checked I only had watermelon. So much for remembering every single piece of paper I have, lol.
I am hoping to get this little cutie on a card tomorrow.

Onto My Day:
Another nap day.
I was in a fog most of the day. I blame it on the weather.
What happened to our gorgeous weather from the beginning of March.

I did get down in my scrap/craft room this afternoon and worked on Heather's mini album.
I have to start month end on Monday, so I am hoping I can complete it before then.

Kristy is at a Gala called "Sweet Indulgences."
Proceeds go to the Arthritis Society. This event challenges ten caterers from around my city, the guests get to vote, for “Best Dessert in the City”. Kristy is helping her Co-Op placement dish out their dessert.
Who ever purchases a ticket can also get mini manicures and mini massages. If you purchase a VIP ticketed table you also get your own personal "manservant" to serve your desserts and wine.
I have never been to one, but I hear those that have gone enjoyed themselves and I think they usually sell out.
I just hope Kristy brings home some leftovers......of dessert that is. I don't think Wayne would be happy if she brought home a left over manservant, lol.

Wayne would like to thank you all for your nice comments on his scrapbook from yesterday. He enjoyed reading all your comments.

Hope you all had a creative Wednesday :)

My Husband is a Scrapbooker

Wayne wanted to do something special with the photos he took from our trip to Montana last summer.
He was on his Macbook Pro putting this together through IPhoto.
He kept asking me and the girls our opinions on what he was doing.
I said to him "You know what your doing don't you?"
"What?" her asked.
"Your scrapbooking!" I told him.
"Really?" he questioned.
So I had to share his work on here for all to see :)

Sadly my camera does not do his photos justice. His photography is stunning.

I love the high quality of his large photos. I guess that's what you get when you have a big boy camera ;)
See how he put a mini photo in the corner. He is so creative ;)

He even did some journaling, I am so impressed :)

I think it was great that he enjoyed scrapbooking.
I have never done a digital scrapbook, and not sure if I ever will.
But so happy that we both have something else in common.

Onto My Day:
Heather, Sharon and I went for a run to the Border today.
Had some lunch, I mailed some packages and Heather had a package to pick up. She ordered a book a friend of hers wrote.
I also picked up some diet cherry pepsi for Wayne, as we can't get it here.

Hope you all had a creative Tuesday :)

Kitty Comfort

I made this card for a friend whose cat had passed away :(
I can't image the heart ache she and her family are in right now.
We love our cat Rose, and she is such a part of our family that our home wouldn't be the same without her.
I hope that this gives her some comfort, knowing that we are thinking of her.

I used a Pure Innocence stamp, and coloured the image with my copics.
I was planning on paper piecing her dress with the same background paper, but it took away from the image.
I should really record the colours I use. I like the colours I used for the shadow under her, but not sure which ones I used.
I see a speck on the photo...don't you hate when you don't notice a flaw until you post the photo?

I used a Tim Holtz fragment piece and adhered some paper with a heart pattern to the back of it, then added a brad.

The inside of the card. I wanted to put the image on the card, but wanted to focus on the kitty.

Onto My Day:
I ended up doing some running around this morning.
It seems like I don't get as much done as I used to. I think it is time for my 15 minute days again ;)

I hope you all had a creative Monday :)

A little bit of vintage type

Can you believe I didn't colour today!
Plus I have more of a vintage card, not a cutesy one to share.

I had this stamp for so long and I never inked up.
So I stamped it onto some parchment that Wayne bought me for my calligraphy, years ago.
I thought it was perfect for this card.
Then I searched through some of my new paper packs and found this key type paper, can things work out any better then this ;)

I curled the edges of the calligraphy paper and added a fountain pen nib.

Inside of the card. I distressed the recipe card and stamped some pen nibs on it.

Onto My Day:
We went to 6 open houses today. They were a lot better then the ones from last weekend, but still not to her liking.
We even checked one that was brand new, it was over $280,000.00. It was over her budget, but I wanted to check it out. I was so unimpressed. For that price I would at least expect granite counter tops, and nice flooring throughout the house. Especially in a new house. That is probably why this house is still on the market.
I think Ashley might to wait a bit until the housing market, hopefully gets better. But that's not going to stop us from checking out more open houses. You just never know ;)
I caught up on some book work, and that is about it.

Hope you had a great creative weekend :)

Happy 17th Birthday Kristy

Today is my baby's 17th Birthday.
I know I say this when it is any one of my daughters birthdays, but seriously where the heck does the time go?!?
Everyone told me I had it too easy with my first two, as they didn't give me any grief (besides being a bit cheeky from time to time) and that Kristy would be my trouble maker.
Watch out for that one, she is going to be a handful. They would say.
But you know what, she was just as loving and respectful as Ashley and Heather.
I know I am one of the lucky ones.
Not only do I love my daughters, I also love to be around them. And I think they enjoy being around Wayne and I as well :)

Here is the Birthday card I made for Kristy.
I was going to give her the cup cake girl card, but when I saw this image, I knew I had to make her this one.

Perfect for my Kristy, or KDawg as Wayne and the girls nicknamed her. She has been working decorating cakes for her Co-op in school.

Here is the inside of her card. I put a small envelope on the opposite page and popped some American money in there for our next trip.

Awwww this is my beautiful birthday girl.
I don't remember looking this gorgeous in high school. Actually I have never looked this gorgeous. I think my girls got all the good genes in our family.

Remember yesterday I was talking about decorating Kristy's birthday cake. Kristy wanted a Luigi cake. My girls love video games. More of the scary ones, but they also like the ol'school ones as well.
Sharon had a Mario cake pan from when her son was a little boy. So we changed the colours to look like Luigi.
I think it turned out awesome.
It does look like Mario stole Luigi's clothes, but she was ecstatic about it, and that's all that matters.

Onto My Day:
Kristy wanted to go to Applebees for her birthday dinner.
So we invited her boyfriend, Blake, and had a nice evening.
Then the rest of the family came by for cake after. A wonderful day and evening with family and friends.

Hope you all had a creative Saturday :)

Happy Mail and my Zombie Family

I received some "Happy Mail" from Angie, also known as Nonniescrap.
She sent me this awesome Zombie Family stickers. So cool :)
Actually that does look like me in the morning ;)

Here is a video I did of the goodies she sent me. She also made me some really pretty cards.....well the leprechaun card.... I don't know if I would say was pretty, but it was pretty awesome.

Onto My Day:
My SIL, Sharon came by tonight. Not for scrapbooking, we decorated Kristy's birthday cake.
Kristy wanted a special cake and her aunty Sharon has made them some pretty neat cakes over the years.
Funny as Kristy kind of took over the decorating, even though she said she wasn't going to help decorated Her Own Birthday Cake, lol.

I also chatted with one of my blogging friends today.
We were chatting on how we have to organize our rooms and we have a bit to much stuff (that's putting it mildly).
So I came up with a pact. Starting Monday we are can't buy anything scrap related (except for adhesive) until July.
I thought she hung up on me as the line went dead, lol. So we agreed we will do it for a month to start off with.
The reason I said until July, is because we go on our girls trip to the States in July or August and there is no way I'm not buying anything when we go there, lol.

Hope you all had a creative Friday :)
I'm off to order some stamps....hey its not Monday yet ;)

Hello my Friend

Hello :)
I put my little mushroom head girl on a card tonight :)
She is a new stamp from CC Designs. I agree with you Beth, she does look like the Cindy Loo Hoo from the Grinch, I think its the dress.
The background paper I pieced together a bit.
The scallops from this paper were on the top and bottom. It was to high for this card so I cut them off, but still wanted to keep it on the card, so I just adhered it to the sides.

The rest of the papers were from my scrap pile.
The "Hello" banner was stamped from an Ippity stamp that I had won, and then I stamped the letters with an old stamp set I had.

Here is the inside of the card.
I know you must be confused. You must be saying to yourself, this can't be one of Tracy's cards as she didn't use a recipe card for the inside.
What I did do was use the rest of the paper from the front of the card. I figured it had the lines on it already, so it was good to go :)

Onto My Day:
I cleaned up part of the basement. It was driving me crazy.
Plus the Union Gas guy had to exchange our meter and had to go in that area to restart the pilot light, teehee.
Then once I got that part done, I moved onto my work area. Well it isn't really my "work" area, it is just an area where I store all the company tickets, invoices for the last few years and extra office supplies.

Then the most exciting part of my day was getting a call from my Canadian friend and celebrity blogger Canadian Nickel Scrap'n. We have been blogging friends for a while now, but this is the first time we had talked on the phone :)
I remember I was so touched when she sent me a card after my dad passed away, I thought that was so thoughtful.
Nicole also got me colouring with Stampin' Up markers, which she is the queen at I must say.

Hope you all had a creative Thursday :)

Too much Sweetness

I coloured an image while watching Survivor tonight.
Not sure when she will get on a card though.
It is one of my new CC Design stamps.

When Kristy was at her Co-cop placement the lady that is trainer her, gave her some icing and some tools to practice making roses.
This is her first time, and I thing she is doing great!

She was also practicing her writing with icing. She doesn't really like this part, teehee.
But I did, because I took a rubber spatula and scrapped it up and enjoyed the sweetness ;)

Wayne wanted a snack so Kristy added some icing to his Nutragrain bar. Not as healthy now is it, lol.  But oh so good.

Onto My Day:
I was exhausted today. I think it was because of the weather. It rained all day today.
I babysat my nephew today. He is such a sweetie. I was going to share a photo of him, but forgot to ask permission to post it.
He was taking a nap when I got there. So I was worried he would cry when he saw that it was me who took him out of the crib and not his mommy.
But nope, I picked him up and he just snuggled into my neck. Oh I miss that so much.

Hope you all had a creative Wednesday :)

I was a Featured Artist :)

Here is the tag that I gave you a peek at yesterday.
I made it for Laurel, who showcased me as her Featured Artist on both her blog, Paper and Scissors Rock and YouTube channel.
Can you believe it!!!  I can't.
I was so honored.
This tag was suppose to be all grungy and vintage.
Not one bit grungy or vintage, lol.

The only thing that is on this tag that I had visioned is the coloured image. Not the Exact coloured image, but a coloured image ;)

Here is the tag that Laurel made for me. She made each person she featured a tag with their style in mind.
I like that she embossed the paper with the bingo folder. She said she did this because I am a book keeper.
Here is the video Featured Artist #4 she did. Her words towards me just touched my heart.
Thank you so much Laurel.

Here is a video I did to thank Laurel and to share the details of both the tag she made for me and the one I made for her.

Onto My Day:
My day was pretty boring, lol.
Kristy and her friends went out for supper to celebrate her birthday, a bit belated but they still all couldn't get together. Her one friend had hockey tonight :(
When I went to pick them up I brought my camera, only to find out that the battery was completely dead :(
So I used one of the girls phones. Hope they turned out fine.

Hope you all had a creative Tuesday :)

Beautiful spring day

Just a little sneak peek at what I was working on this weekend.
I was planning on uploading a video but I didn't get to it today.
Then I got a call from my blogging friend and well...... we chatted on the phone for 4 hours and 45 minutes.
Told you I love to talk. It doesn't help that she loves to talk as much as I do ;)
I coloured this cute image with my Copics. It is an Stampin' Up stamp.
I don't think I have used as much sparkle in a project as in this one :)

Onto My Day:
Kristy is back to her Co-op placement and school today.
March break is sadly over :(
Ashley and I went for a nice long walk tonight after supper. It was beautiful all day. It was like a beautiful Spring day here today.
But I'm not getting fooled, I still am expecting snow. We usually have a storm in April. I hope this year is an exception though.

Hope you had a creative Monday :-)

Cup cake girl card and house hunting

My cupcake girl made it onto a card tonight.
It took me most of the day and all night to make this card.
I know I am slow at creating things, but I was watching the Walking Dead marathon all day ;)

Did you notice that the Marilyn Monroe birthmark has disappeared.
I took her to the dermatologist and got it removed, lol.
What I did was re-stamp  her face and then colour it up again. Then I fussy cut just her face out and adhered to the main image.
I did something a bit different, I formed the face and popped it up a bit. It actually looks cool.

I stamped the cupcakes and coloured them with Copics. I also formed them and adhered them with foam adhesive.

 The inside of my card.
Added a coloured cupcake to the recipe card.

Onto My Day:
Ashley, Heather, Kristy and I checked out 7 open houses.
I sure as heck am not impressed with the houses out there.
Even though Ashley was looking at houses way below her price range. I was just surprised how many homes were not kept up.
Maybe I was just delusional. Doesn't any one take pride in their home anymore. We did see a nice home that was well taken care of.
An old lady lived in it and she was moving into an apartment. Her home was clean, neat and kept up. Only thing was it was a core floor. A core floor is a house with out a basement, just to clarify.

I spent the rest of the day and night watching the Walking Dead marathon.
Tonight was the last episode for this season...which was awesome!!
I don't want to spoil it, so I won't go into detail. But I am so looking forward to season 3 and sad that us fans have to wait so long for it. Bring on the re-runs :)

Hope you all had an excellent creative weekend :)

Baking and some mushrooms

I coloured for a bit today.
But I felt off.
I'm not going to pick it apart and tell you all the flaws with this one, you can do that yourself, lol. But do you notice that she has a birthmark on her cheek.
Ya, I dropped the dark blue marker on her face, just as I was almost complete colouring her.
You know I never practice, I use almost everything that I do, so I gave her the Marilyn Monroe look ;)
I don't think I am finished with her, I may paper piece her apron, not sure yet.

I had the munchies tonight, so I thought I would fry up some mushrooms. Hubby jumped in the shower, so I was going to give him half of them when he came out.
But before I knew it I ate them all.
He didn't know I was going to cook some up, so I just put away my plate and didn't say a word.
Wayne comes out of the shower and says, it smells like someone cooked up some mushrooms.
BUSTED.

I got a bit to close for the photo on this one, lol

Onto My Day:
The girls (my daughters) and I were going to check out some open houses. But they all needed a lot of work on them. So we didn't go today. There are some more tomorrow, so we will see.

I worked on a tag, and coloured this image.
That about it for me today.
Tomorrow is the last episode of the season for the Walking Dead :(
They are going to show all the episodes from this season, so tomorrow is going to be a Walking Dead marathon :)
It is suppose to rain tomorrow so I don't have to feel guilty about staying in all day :)

Hope you all had a creative Saturday :)

Jennifer and Jasons Shag

Tonight was our nieces and her fiance shag.
They are such a beautiful couple and so sweet.
Their shag was a St. Patrick's day theme, hence the green shirts and the cute green hat Jennifer is wearing.

Don't know what a shag is?
Well here in Ontario, it is a combination of a shower and a stag.
Tickets are sold for you to enter (about $2.00-$3.00 each). You can purchase additional tickets for alcohol. There are also games you can play also for a prize. There are also draws for prizes. The prizes are usually donated by companies around town.
The profit of this goes to the couple to help with the wedding costs, or to start their new life together.
Jennifer and Jason had some really great prizes, a trip to Las Vegas, 3 autographed jerseys from Patrick Sharp, who now plays for the Chicago Blackhawks, a local hockey player that knows the family.
Sometime people who don't even know the couple come to dance and have a good time.

Hubby and I didn't stay that late.
Wayne has had a headache for 5 days, and he couldn't handle the pounding music any longer.
We came home to Ashley, Heather and Kristy sitting around the laptop. They were checking out houses to go to some open houses tomorrow.
Not sure who is more excited Ashley or her sisters ;)

Hope you all had a creative Friday :)
Oh you had all asked why Wayne put the empty tampon box on the hutch.
First you have to understand the sense of humour my family has.
Second, he was tired of looking at it on the bathroom counter for 3 days and wanted to see how long it would take for us to notice. lol.

Sweet Card and I found out who the tampon bandit was ;)

I used one of my new Pure Innocence stamps I bought on our trip :)
You know what that means...I get to buy some more, lol.
I saw a card on the net and copied the layout. It was only a photo, no links to the original, so sorry I can't give credit to the original.
I also used my new punch :)  I stamped part of the phrase that came with the stamp set on the punched tab.
Now I think I need some small word stamps ;)

I coloured her with my Copics and paper pieced her dress.
I really like how she turned out..until I uploaded the card on here and it looks like she is wearing a granny dress, lol.
I didn't ink anything, can you believe it.
Oh that's a lie, I inked the around the image.

The inside of this card.
I used some left over papers to back my recipe card.
I think I may stamp something on here yet.

Onto My Day:
I woke up to this text from Wayne.
"Think you might need glasses to read the thermometer, 10C=50F. And I'm the tampon bandit ;)  "
I guess he had some down time at work today and checked out my blog post from yesterday, lol.

I had some errands to do today. Banking, groceries, pick up some office supplies (which I forgot my list at home, so need to go back). And lastly brought Kristy to her boyfriends house.
The Natural Gas company was suppose to change our gas meter, but I cancelled. I hate being in a rush, so I phoned and rescheduled.

I went to the bank today with Ashley.
She has an excellent credit rating and there is no problem with her getting a loan for a house :)
I am so proud of her.
The Mortgage Specialist  was very impressed with how much she has saved and her credit rating. I don't think she could believe someone as young as Ashley is so responsible. That's my girl :)
She also asked where in the city she would like to purchase a house from....I told her close to me, lol.
The lady told Ashley its a good idea to live close to your parents, she lives close to her mom and loves it.
I am so excited for her, but at the same time a little sad that she is going to be living on her own, and not be able to see her every single day :(
The housing market right now is crazy here. There are actually bidding wars going on.

Hope you all had a creative day :)

Tracy :)

distressed Card

I finally put this coloured image on a card :)
This image I coloured with my Copic markers. I was trying to make it look like I used distress inks.
I am happy with how it turned out.
I also used my new banner stamp, and then hand cut it out and then backed it with dark brown card stock and hand cut that out as well.

I inked up some of the pretty flowers that Dena had sent me with pink distress ink.

Do you ever find something in your home that doesn't really belong where you find it.
I know when you have little kids, this type of thing happens all the time.
But I have 2 adult daughters and a teen daughter, so I am a bit surprised when I see things like this.
Yup, its an empty box of tampons displayed on my corner hutch. I don't think it goes with my decor, lol.

Onto My Day:
It was 10C (30F) here. So Kristy and I went for a nice walk.
Besides dodging the puddles on the sidewalk, by dodging them, we had to walk on the snow banks but it was still a wonderful walk.
The girls and I ran out and picked up some bagels, as it was bagel Wednesday.
Kristy has been watching The OC and whenever she does, she always wants some bagels as they eat them in the show, lol.

After I enjoyed the walk, I took a pretty long nap.
Its all that fresh air I tell ya ;)

Hope you all had a creative Wednesday:)

Tracy :)
