Hocus Pocus.....Its Halloween Night :)

I told you I would share my mini with you today.
Well here is the front.....does it look familiar to anyone.
Can you hear Winifred (Bette Midler) calling out "Booook, oh Boook.... come to me Booook"?
My video is being uploaded right now, so I will share it tomorrow.
Besides the phone ringing as I was taping, to not getting the music I wanted for the video, to realizing to late that I said a few things incorrectly and forgetting to post photos at the end of the video.
Lets just say it is what it is, lol.

I am so happy with how this turned out.
My girls weren't to happy when I told them I was making this for a swap. They want me to make another one, so it is a hit here :)
Besides the base, everything on here was made with my tiny crafty hands, lol.
I even made the cover (which is suppose to look like human skin) look old and aged.

Here is the cutest trick or treater that came to our house tonight.
My (great) nephew Matthew :)
What a sweet pumpkin he is :)
So much nicer then the 3 pot smokin'/ smelling teen boys that came tonight....guess they got the munchies, lol.

I am sure Matthew will be the perfect angel when he grows up :)

Onto My Day:
Added the finishing touches to the mini. I have to mail it soon, as I keep adding or tweaking it ;)
Worked as tomorrow is the beginning of the month, so time to get the billing done.
Ran out to get cat food, litter and some other things we needed. Came home with everything on my list, except cat food and litter. Guess I will be running out again tomorrow :(

Not to many Trick or Treaters tonight. We may have got 40. I thought we would get way more as the weather is beautiful. And what I mean by beautiful is I could see the costumes, no one was wearing heavy winter jackets ;)

So off to bed for me, hope you all had a wonderful Monday :) And a fun and Safe Halloween :)

Stamps and so close to being finished my mini :)

I spent most of my day in my scrap/craft room :)
I am so close to finishing off my album...so close.
I think I may stay up late tonight to get it complete.

Funny thing is I was planning on working, if not finishing, my next mini.
It is also a Halloween type. Guess it will have to wait until next week as month end is here and I will be working all this week.

I said I would show the stamps I purchased at the garage stamp sale.
These were, I think, $6.00 each.
I thought they would be great to colour.
The blue thing behind the stamps is the file folder to hold my different types of paper. Copics, water paper, Stampin' Up and any other papers I use for colouring on.

   Onto My Day:
Like I said I worked on my mini album most of the day.
That was after I slept in ;)
Watching "Walking Dead"....OMG it is another intense one !!!!

Hope you all had an excellent, creative weekend :)

Pumpkin Fun

Ashley wanted to carve pumpkins with her boyfriend Tyler.
So she wanted me to come with her to pick them out.
First we ran to Safeway, but she didn't like the ones they had. They were under $3.00 each....I am sure she could have found a nice side.
So I told her we could go to the Warehouse, they had 3 huge boxes full, and they were $2.50 each.
She wanted to go to the Farmers market. Even though I told her they would be pricey there.
Well she found 2 that she loved.
When asked the price, the old guy said $10.00 each.......$10.00!!!!!!!!!!
She took them!?!?!
She said after the guy helped her take them out of the large box she felt should.
This is where she Doesn't take after me, lol.

Here is Tyler's creation. Pretty cool eh?

This one is Ashley's. She took the Martha Stewart approach ;)  See the black spider... that was my touch ;)

One thing I have to say about these pumpkins, they did produce a lot of pumpkin seeds......not sure if it is $20.00 worth though, lol.

Here are the artists at work.

Onto My Day:
My plan was to work ALL day on my mini book. I should have known better.
Went to the garage stamp sale. I picked up 5 large stamps (pictures to follow tomorrow) and a plastic divided folder to hold my different types of paper for my Copics.
Then came home and waited for the shower. After 2 out of my 3 daughters took a shower I got mine.
Picked up pumpkins with Ashley.
When Heather came home from work, Sharon came and visited with me for while.
Kristy and Blake planned a whole day/evening to pig out on munchies and watch scary movies all day.
Then they wanted to pick up some more from the video store. So off we went....I did get them to decorate the front yard with Halloween fun.
Wayne came home from hunting and wanted me to go with him to pick up a few things that he needed.

By this time I was ticked. All I wanted to do was stay in my room all day and complete the mini.
Well that didn't happen. But guess where I am going right now ;)

Hope you all had a creative day :)

How much of a good thing is to much

Wow now that's one big Peanut Butter Cup!!!
I had to go and pick up some Halloween candy. I didn't want it in the house any sooner then today, as I know the boxes would have got broken into, lol.
I found these massive puck-like Reese Peanut butter cups at Zellers. It is 1/2 lb!!!
Ashley has been having a rough week, and these are her favourite chocolates.
So picked one up and we all shared it :)

I can't believe how big it is!

Yup it was full of peanut butter filling ;)
I only had a tiny bite. As much as I love my sweets this was just over the top.

Onto my Day:
Not to much to report....
Worked on my Halloween album. I was hoping to be finished tonight....but I knew that was a long shot.
Did some book work.
Ran to Michael's :)
Did some errands.

There is a big rubber stamp and scrapbook sale tomorrow.
It is taking place in a two car heated garage. There is both new and used products there. I am hoping to go :)
Once I heard about it, I knew I wanted to take my friend Debbie with me. Sadly for me she is visiting her sister in Alberta :(     Happy that she gets she her sister though :)

Hope your weekend is a creative one :)

Week 14 of the He-Art Challenge and Thankful Thursday

Wow week 14 of this challenge.
The challenges lasts for 23 weeks. So only 9 more to go. And I haven't missed a one, not even when we were in Montana in hotels for a week :)

So here was last weeks challenge.

WEEK 14- Two-Toned or Tonal
Assignment: Create a spread or a page using only two main colors! This could be a background wash.Use any stamps you want, colors, etc. Not necessary to use any TGF stamps, this is YOUR journal, do what you want cuz you rule that journal!

So here is my take on the challenge.
I really like how this one turned out.

It was a struggle as I had a couple different themes in my mind.
But being that Halloween is near, I thought it was best to go with this one
I wanted to use watercolours, as with water colouring your shades vary. And with only being able to use 2 colours, this would have been a bonus.
But it just wasn't working. So I opted to use my copics on the images and water colour for my background.

I used a border punch for the spider webs bordering the scene. I really like that.
I drew the dead tree, I know eh? I'm just as surprised as you are with how it turned out :)

I traced the cauldron from some clip art.
And used a cup to get the full purple moon ;)
The pages are a bit warped because I think I added to much water.

Onto My Day:
Heather found my cheater glasses, yeah. I was so happy I gave her a hug and did a little dance. Don't worry she is used to this, lol.
I have been using Wayne's the last few days and I think they have been giving me a headache as his are to strong. Well its either that or lack of Coca-cola ;)
Worked on Claudia's mini album. It is coming out better then I had imagined. Don't you just LOVE when that happens :)

Thankful Thursday
My glasses were found.
I didn't make supper tonight....take out....I know bad.
Got a message from Hubby's aunt. Haven't chatted with her for awhile as she moved away.
Warm slippers
Watching movies as I create, Today was Alice
My BIL felt fine after his treatment, hope they all go that smoothly.

What are you Thankful for today?

Tracy :)

Time, do we ever have enough?

 Short post tonight.
I have to still finish up my challenge for this weeks He-Art Challenge.

I was colouring some images for my page.
I wanted to use water colour, but it just didn't seem to work for me today.
The challenge was to use 2 colours. So I figured I would use my water colour, because you can get so many shades with just one colour.
I used my aqua pen and I think too much water was coming out of it. As you can see, the colours ran....a lot.
So I used my copics instead. I just kept to the same colour.

Copics                                Water markers with aqua pen

I need an extra week in this month.

I have a few things that I wanted to get done before month end.
I wanted to finish Claudia's Halloween mini album, this one may get done though :)
I wanted to make my mini for my design team.
Totally clean the house.
Put all the outside furniture away.

Guess the house things will have to wait until next month ;)

Hope you all had a creative Wednesday.
Sending healthy vibes to my BIL, as he had his first cancer treatment today.

Decorative Pumpkins, who would have thought they could be so pretty?

My daughter Ashley and I email each other decorating ideas, cupcakes, cool photos and (of course) shoes that we like.
Well one day she emailed me an idea on how to decorate your pumpkins.
The blog I am referring to is Between Naps on the Porch. I love her blog, her home and of course her porch.
Ashley decided that we needed to make these.
So off I went to purchase some pumpkins.
Then some ribbon. We didn't realize how much ribbon we were going to need for 3 of them.
So I picked her up from work today to get the rest of the ribbon.

           Here is our display:)
I really like how they turned out. The photo doesn't do them justice as it is night and this is in the hallway, so just take my word on it, they turned out quite pretty.

Today didn't go as planned.
Here is my TO DO list.

Here is what I really got done today:
Drove Kristy to school.
Checked email and replied to YouTube comments
Showered
Checked emails and replied to and watched YouTube.
Lunch with Ashley and Heather, picked up ribbon.
Checked emails and replied to and watched YouTube.
Picked up Kristy and Blake.
Groceries consisted of frozen pizza for supper.
Checked emails and replied and watched YouTube.

See the pattern here, lol.

Hope you all had more of a productive day than I did ;)

Pictures of my Pink Spider Web Mini

I know not everyone likes to watch videos. So I posted pictures of my Pink Spider Web Mini Album.
Here is the front cover. I designed the cover and cut it out with my scroll saw. Then I backed the covers with pink card stock that I had stamped with spider webs.
I just love that sparkly spider :)

I made that little pocket with a left over piece of a black paper bag.
Stamped Happy Halloween (think it was a $1.50 stamp from Michael's) then backed it with black sparkle paper.

The black cat is a pull out tag slipped behind the Gothic girl :)
As you see this is an envelope album.

I put the pumpkin girl on a tiny paper bag that I stamped with hanging spiders. I am going to put a treat in there for my swap partner.

This cute little witch is a new stamp I purchased last week (forgot to share those with you, teehee).
Sat her up on two sparkle pumpkins.

This pocket was from a table setting place card. I stamped and embossed the "BOO" on the front.
I did this last year on my Halloween tag.

Here are all the tags from the album.
They were given to me from Brenda. Thank you Brenda.
I just stamped the images on them and then added my recipe cards on the back to journal.

There you have it. All complete, now to mail it off. Which I am so bad at, getting things in the mail.

Onto My Day:
After dropping Kristy off at school, I ran to Michael's. I was looking for something particular for my next mini. They didn't have anything I could use. I really didn't want to make it from scratch....but I had to.
Then went to the dollar store looking for something for me to use, nope, nadda.
Ran and picked up a few groceries. Then went to buy or rent a movie to give me inspiration for this mini. But can you believe that the movie was out at the video store, and Future Shop was out of it as well.

Then when I finally got home I worked on my new mini album. It is turning out pretty cool so far.  Fingers crossed it stays that way :)
At lunch Ashley and I were working on a home decor project. We ran out of ribbon, so hopefully tomorrow we can finish it.

Hope you had a creative Monday :)

My Pink Spider Web Mini Album

bJust wanted to share how awesome the Walking Dead has been this season.
Very Intense  :)

Here is my Pink Spider Web Mini Album
I will share photos tomorrow, as I didn't get photos taken today.
But I will share the videos I did :)

This video is how I had made the Album from start to finish.
I have been asked if I could share how I have made my minis step by step.
But by the time I have put up the video, it is complete. So that is kind of hard to do, lol.
So I made a video from start to finish. Not sure if I will be doing this to many times, as it is a lot of work and not to fun, lol.

Here is the finished mini.
So if you don't care on how I have made the album, then just watch this video on the finished album ;)
Hope you enjoy it :)

Onto My Day:
I went to Montana's with Kristy, her boyfriend Blake and his mom Carrie.
It is Carrie's Birthday tomorrow, so the kids wanted us all to go out for lunch.
How sweet eh?

I have been getting to many comments on my YouTube channel, so trying to reply to everyone.
Believe me I am not complaining.
I think I will catch up on more of them tomorrow as I have to catch up on my book work :)

Hope your weekend was great and you got some creating done :)

New Treasures in the house :)

I totally forgot I took this picture :)
It was from the night Hubby and I snuck out to get some appetizers :)
Wish I had some now mind you :)

Today was a crazy, busy day.
I did a few videos today, but I don't want to spoil you, so I will share the goodies I received in my design team kit.

Not only did I finish one of my Halloween minis tonight, but I also bought a replacement laptop :(
I am happy and sad at the same time....its the attachment thing again, lol.
I am still working on my old laptop as I (when I say "I", what I mean is "Wayne") haven't completed the start up of the new one.
Here is my new laptop. It is a Sony, my other one was a Toshiba.
But this one holds twice the amount my Toshiba held.
Yes that is Ashley's photo I have as me desktop :)

And Wayne being who he is, couldn't just let me get a a new laptop. Being the gadget guy that he is he had to get a toy as well.
So he picked up the iPad for himself.
I guess his iPhone is a bit hard to see in his older age, lol

So that has been my busy day today.
Hope you Saturday is a creative one.

Tracy :)

No Scrappin tonight, but sharing some awesome photos.

Today I spent most of my day in my scrap/craft room.
I am have completed one of the Halloween mini albums for the swaps I am in.
I have yet to video tape the finished mini, but I have been doing a tutorial on the process.
I have been asked so many times to share how I have made my mini's. That is hard to do as they are finished and I don't plan on making another one exactly the same, lol.
So Ashley told me to make a video as I was making this mini. Which I did.
But I don't think I will be doing this for every one of my minis.

So because I don't have anything creative to share with you today, I thought I would share some of Ashley's photography with you.
Here are some cupcakes she made. Check out her Flicker http://www.flickr.com/photos/alempiala/
Aren't they pretty :)
 My dad was a photographer.
When he passed away he wanted me (my family) to get his cameras. As he knew we all have a passion for photography. He loved to discuss photography with Wayne and Ashley.
Mind you my dad had never used a digital camera, he loved the photos they took.
This is my dad's leica MP-334

 This is a mamiya/sekor 1000TL

I went for my morning walk with Lynne again this morning.
Not sure how long they will last though, it has been freezing here in the mornings.
We had heavy frost the last few mornings. I think the temperature was -5C this morning.
I think the treadmill will be getting use very soon :)
No Scrapbook Night tonight, mind you I did some creating on my own.
Enjoy your weekend.

HeArt Journal Challenge Week #13 and a Thankful Thursday.

Week 13 of my challenge with Greeting Farms He-Art Journal.
You know I never thought of myself as a "Art Journal" type of person, but I am enjoying the process. Even though I know I don't fit into the traditional Art Journal group. But that's okay :)

This weeks challenge
WEEK 13 - LUCKY number
Assignment: Create a spread or a page based on a lucky, unlucky, or significant number in your life. Use any stamps you want, colors, etc. Not necessary to use any TGF stamps, this is YOUR journal, do what you want cuz you rule that journal!

Now I don't have a "lucky" or "favourite number, so this one was took a bit of thinking.
But when I thought about it I realized how much numbers has to do with my everyday life.
There isn't an hour that goes by that I don't write down a number for something.
So here are my pages.

I really enjoyed colouring in this image. The little Alice was holding a large tea cup. So what I did was stamp a clock, colour in the center, cut it out and popped it up on top of the image.
That is my treadmill face if you are wondering what that is down on the bottom of the page ;)

These are just a few of the many ways I document certain numbers throughout the day.

Thankful Thursday
I was asked to be on yet another design team. I am still deciding on this.
My health, even though I am far from being the healthiest I can be. I am so thankful. There have been a few people in my life lately that have not been as lucky as I am.
I got to spend a lot of time in my craft room today.
Hubby and I sneaking off for some appetizers, shhhhhh.

What are you thankful for today?

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

Crash....I think I may have to say good-bye.

Just thought I would share my desk. See its not so clean anymore is it :(
But it does show that I have been working. And I vow to clean it up when I am done.
I was suppose to share this a few days ago.
But the fiery truck was more exciting, lol.

Oh ya and thank you for thinking my cupboards look so organized, because I think they are a mess....guess I can cross that one off my to-do list, teehee.
I am a bit bummed today.
I woke up and turned on my laptop only to discover that it was still logging off, from last night.
Actually I kept pressing every button on here and still it said it was logging off...all day long.
So I was hoping hubby could get it up and running long enough for me to transfer all my photos and such to my external hard drive.
Thankfully he did. But he worked until after 8:00pm, so I had a long wait.

I am thinking I need a new laptop.
It has done this before. Plus my battery no longer holds a charge and I bent the plug in and the internal plug in for the recharger cord   :-O  .
I have a lot of organizing I want to do before I put everything on the external hard drive though.
I hate to get rid of anything that is working, and right now my laptop is working. I feel like I need to squeeze every last drop out of this baby before I say good bye. Plus I will be sad to get rid of it, I know I won't find another one just like this one.
Is that odd?
I seriously feel sad when we get rid of something big, like a vehicle. Its like I am sending it away with all my memories. I actually feel sad for the object. Weird eh?

Do you get attached to things like I do?

Drove over the border with Heather today, to pick up some parcels she ordered. We didn't go for lunch this time. It just wasn't the same without my Sharon :(   She had to work this week.

Proud Tuesday and page 1 of the first Halloween mini.

I thought I would show something crafty today, as it seems like its been awhile.
Here is the first page of my mini album. I am not completely done with this yet though.
I am making it for a young girl.
She wanted a Halloween album in pink and black.
So some of the pages are pink, and other pages (such as this one) have pink on the coloured images.
The Pumpkin girl is attached to a pocket. I am going to put pink tags throughout this mini.

This photo is for you Dena ;)
You wanted to see my cupboard doors open, so here you go, lol.
I hate looking at this photo. I have a thing about cupboard doors needing to be closed.
It drives me crazy when they are left open.
I even close the cupboard doors when I go visit as well, lol.
My family  teases me by keeping them open.....they are so mean to me, lol.

 Update on the gravel truck.
Wayne took this photo tonight.
I don't think anyone will be driving it anymore :(

Proud Tuesday:
I didn't drink any pop today :)
Did my walk on the treadmill this morning.
Worked on my HeArt Journal....not happy with it though.

What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Tracy :)

Truck fire....not a fire truck

Yummy :)
Kristy made Finn pancakes for supper.
Then she made a special one for me, with my hand picked blueberries ;)

Wayne worked real late tonight, I was getting worried. He has been working till 8:00pm but he still wasn't home after 9:00pm.
Well a truck caught on fire tonight. No one was hurt, thankfully.
Actually the truck was parked for over 2 hours (as the work day was over at 5:00) and then a little after 7:00 the hood just burst into flames.
Alan (Wayne's brother) was at the main plant and saw the flames and tried to put it out with a fire extinguisher, but the fire spread.
Wayne just happen to come back from another pit at this time, so he and Alan, grabbed the keys for the other trucks and moved them out of the way.
Thankfully they were around as all the trucks are parked close together, so they would all have probably gone up. And maybe even the garage.
The volunteer fire department came by to help put the fire out.

Onto My Day:
Today I worked on my Halloween mini album.
Watched the City of Ember while I was working on it. Yesterday's movie was Under the Tuscun Sun.
So much for my clean scrap/crafting work table ;)
Chatted with a friend on the phone....about a 2 hour convo ;)

Hope you all had a creative Monday :)

Tracy:)

Winner, winner chicken dinner....not really. Step two..stamping area.

Well firsts things first.
If you remember the post I did about Kristy's art and who was her inspiration. You all had the correct answer, it was indeed Andy Warhol.
So I put all the names in a bowl and got my hand model Heather to pick out a name.
So Jamie, if you could send me your address, I will get your goodies out to you.
Just remember it will take awhile as I have noticed that snail mail is in fact being delivered by snails lately.

Now onto my project of the day.
I am still working on the cleaning/organizing of my scrap/craft room.
Honestly I really do think I need a bigger room. I have no idea how I am going to fit everything I had bought on our recent travels in this room.

This is my stamping area.
But it looks like my dumping spot doesn't it. Well that is because it has turned into just that.

And with the magic of blog land, look at everything all neat and organized :)

Here is a closer look at my messy stamping area :(

Now look all nice and tidy :)

I have my $1.50 stamps hanging on the side with sticky hooks.

Sharpies and Bic's in the black containers.
Small ink pads in the silver hanging tins. Larger stamp pads in the middle of the peg board.
Clear stamping blocks on the left. Stamp cleaner pad on the right (which I hardly use).
Blue holders on the right hold my alcohol inks. The ones on the left hold sponges and felt pads.
The white wedges are my make up sponges I use for distressing the edges of my papers.
My embossing powders are in the white "swivel store".

I think I have covered everything shown here. Any questions just ask.

Hope you are all enjoying your Sunday.
I am sure going to enjoy my evening........Walking Dead is on tonight, YAHOO.

Tracy :)

Step One...cleaned my desk

             I cleaned my scrap/craft room today!!!!    :)

OK truthfully...I only got to the desk :(
Wow is my room in disarray.....that is a nice way to its a frickin' mess.
But in this photo it looks pretty good, lol. Ohhh the magic of photography cropping :)

I have two white, thin shelves ( IKEA), I am thinking of putting them above my desk but below the layouts.
I would put things on there to inspire me on whichever project I am working on at the time.
Like right now I am in the middle of making 2 Halloween mini albums. So I would put Halloween stamps, embellishments and spooking things on the shelves.
Then I would change them up when working on another project or the season changes.
What do you think?

Heather, Wayne and I are having a "Bones" marathon.
I bought the newest season "6" and tonight we bought munchies and I am having some coca-cola and we are enjoying the evening :)

Hope you are having an enjoyable evening.

Tracy :)

Friday Night Scrapbooking and a Power Outage

Tonight was Friday Night Scrapbooking :)
Thankfully the power didn't go off until my friends left.
When we lose power the candles I use. are scented ;)

The weather today has been rainy, cold and very windy. And because of this, we lost our power.
So this is a short post as I am sure it is going to happen yet again tonight.

When I was young I loved storms, I still do.
I loved to hear the rain beat on our tin roof.
I loved the eeriness of being in the dark, and watching the shadows move along the walls from the candle light.
I loved cuddling in my snuggy- like sleeping bag because we didn't have heat.
I loved the cozy feeling of my family all together sitting in the living room.
I just love storms...as long as everyone and every thing is okay after it all.

What about you, do you like storms?

Hope you all had a creative Friday :)

He-Art Journal week #12 and a Boss gift.

It is week 12 for the He-Art Journal Challenge.
WEEK 12 - Watercolor Wonder   (watercolor-y effects)
Assignment: Create a spread or a page using water colors or something similar. You can spritz, Twinkly H2O, add a little water to your markers... maybe just a splash of color... Use any stamps you want, colors, etc. Not necessary to use any TGF stamps, this is YOUR journal, do what you want cuz you rule that journal!

This is similar to what I was planning on doing last week.
Water colouring is not my medium of choice. I just can't seem to get it right. I have seen beautiful works of art done with watercolour, just not mine.
But I am quite happy with how these pages turned out.
I coloured the background paper by using my acrylic block as a palette. I put the colour on (I used my Stampin' Up markers) the block and used my water pen to pick up the colour and colour the sky and grass.

Then I needed to colour in these images.
The palette method didn't really work, the colours weren't as vibrant as I liked, so I outlined the images or where the shading should be and then moved the colour with my water pen.

I really love how these mushrooms turned out :)
I found this poem on the Internet. It was written anonymously.

This Sunday is boss day. What a weird day to have it. It should be during the weekday.
But anyway, Ashley wanted to make something for her boss's.
So she comes home with some chocolates and glass containers.
Then says okay mom I need your help.
Which means, mom can you do this for me, lol.
So we go into my craft room to decorate the containers. She didn't want them to be fancy as both her boss' are men.
You know they just want the chocolates anyway, teehee.

Onto My Day:
I took another nap today....a long one. Not sure if it from my late nights or having no pop :(
As I was in the craft room today, I realized why I haven't created that much lately.....my room is a complete mess.
So I started cleaning and organizing it tonight.
Would you believe I only got to my Copic papers. Crazy eh?
I had some of my papers mixed up. But the only ones messed up and not properly labeled were my Georgia Pacific and Staples.  The good papers were labeled and separated.
Hubby worked till 8:00 again tonight. So we are watching the last few episodes of Castle.

Thankful Thursday:
