Shower Favours

Tomorrow is Matthew's baby shower.
Last night Sharon and I made these cute tiny purses for gifts for the guests.
When I went to take this photo tonight, the ribbon handles were off of most of them, grrrrr. In my defence, I didn't attach the ribbon, Sharon did ;)
I reattached them, hoping they last until, at least there are in the guests hands, lol.
Janice (my SIL who is putting on the shower) is doing some games. Now whats a shower without games, right?
So I made these teeny tiny post it note holders for the winners (thank for the idea Becky :).
For the door prize I made a teeny tiny post it note holder and a regular sized post it note holder. The reason it isn't blue is because it is a set I had in my stash.
Is it odd that I felt like I should have made new ones?
Reason 1. Because it is old stash, like 2 months old (like it goes bad).
Reason 2. Because it isn't blue.
I know I am odd, but these are the type of things that keep me up at night, lol.
Onto My Day:
I had to run to Staples this morning as when I was making the teeny tiny post it note holders last night, I realized I bought the wrong size. So since Michael's is so close, I ran into there and picked up some more card stock. I made a banner for the shower (or if the mommy wants to hang it in the baby's room). I didn't think I had enough of the colours I wanted to use......well it turned out I didn't even use one of the colours, teehee.
Hubby and I have been watching Vampire movies all day as I made the banner.
Last weekend Zombies, this weekend Vampires.....I think I prefer the Zombie's :)
It rained most of the day today, so it was a good day to stay indoors. Plus Hubby made taco dip and Kristy made banana/chocolate chip muffins. Yum.

I hope you are having a good weekend and was able to create a bit :)

Its a Diaper Cake

Diaper Cake complete :)
I am very happy with how it turned out. I had some issues with the banner. I wanted it to swoop around the cake like icing, but I didn't like the look of it.
Here is the making of the cake. You roll your diaper and then put an elastic around each diaper. Then Put an elasic around the bundle. I then tightly wrapped and tied the blue party ribbon around the stacks and took out the elastics. I thought that the mom wouldn't want to fuss with all those elastics when needing the diapers.
Then I wrapped each tier with tulle and then ribbon.
Hard to believe a pack of diapers can look so pretty decorated. I first put this lamb on the top of the cake, then Kristy put one of the diaper cupcakes on the top, and I liked that better.
Here is the banner that was giving me the trouble. As you can see I put flowers on the tiers. I wasn't going to, but Ashley informed me, that if you purchase a cake from the bakery they have flowers on the baby boy cakes. So I figured it was okay for me to do the same ;)

After making the diaper cake, I had 3 diapers left.

When I went to bed last night, the idea of making diaper cupcakes popped into my head. I lay there thinking of ways on how to make the icing part. I couldn't fall asleep until I tried one. Plus I was scared I would forget the idea in the morning. I had to get up and try one out.

I think they turned out pretty cute :)
Onto My Day:
Most of my day was spent running around.
Spent 1/2 hour trying to fish my key from in between the house and our cement stairs. Yup, locked out of the house and groceries in the jeep.
I had to get some things for the prizes for the baby shower.
Finished up the Diaper Cake.
Sharon came by for Scrapbooking tonight. We ended making the gifts for the prizes for the games, a door prize and a little treat for each guest.
I will share those tomorrow.

Hope you were able to get some creative time in today :)

Video of Matthew's baby mini album and some toxic fun :)

I posted my video of my mini album. I also share the card I made and the box I altered. Hope you enjoy. It was a bit challenging to not put flowers and frills on everything, teehee.

I have been working on the Diaper cake this afternoon. I want keep it clean and simple. I want it to look like an actual cake. I am refraining from putting lots of toys and such on it. So far so good.
Heather says it is disgusting and doesn't want anything to do with it. She told me diapers and cake shouldn't be in the same sentence, lol.

Onto My Day:
If you follow my blog then you know today I had my Nuclear Medicine Stress Test. I had one about 4 years ago so I knew what to expect.
First no pop or chocolate for 24 hour prior to test....now this was hard, but I did succeed :)
Next I had to get up at the unearthly hour of 7:00am. I am NOT a morning person.
Then pay $7.00 for parking   :-O
I had to get an intravenous in which they put bad stuff in me.
See this sign...

All us toxic patients had to sit in this room. Nothing like feeling like your contaminated, lol

After the first injection (yup, you get more then one) I got to go in this machine. It is called a Gamma Scan. Yup just like the sci-fi movies with the gamma rays, teehee.
This machine sucks you in and then the "L" shape thing takes 15 minutes to do the scan.
I think I dozed off the second time I was in there (yup, you go in there more then once).

In between all this you get hooked up to wires then to a monitor to do the treadmill.
On the treadmill the doctor wants you to reach your maximum heartbeat. Well I guess I'm not that bad in shape as I had to go on there for 12 minutes to reach it, I was actually jogging.
Then another injection and then back to the Gamma ray, lol.
All this took about 4+ hours.
I don't know exactly how it went, except to say that that the thing my heart did every once in awhile, does it all the time now.  How Fun.

Thankful Thursday:
For technology in the health field.
Completing the mini and the gift for Matthew's baby shower.
Starting on the Diaper Cake.
For take out. I just wasn't up to cooking tonight.....well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :)
For Hubby's sweet texts while I was waiting at the hospital.
And for all your sweet comments on my box ;)  Sorry I just had to.

What are you Thankful for today?

Decorative box for the mini and some happy mail :)

Can you believe I woke up to snow. Yup it covered the ground, wasn't that pleasant. It has all melted now, thankfully.
I know now where I get my energy from....POP.
Because I haven't been able to drink pop all day, I am drained.
I did make a video of my finished baby boy mini, but it takes to long to upload, so that will have to wait until tomorrow. I am off to bed after this post.

I searched high and low for a box to put this mini album in. Well I finally found one at Michael's. It is made out of paper mache. I didn't have a coupon, but wasn't about to drive all the way back home to get it to save $2.00. So when I got it home I covered it with pattern paper and decorated it.
I like how it turned out and it fits the mini and the card :)

I did do a video though. Today I received some more happy mail. I can not believe how generous all these women are. I feel like I don't do enough in return.
Boy I am so lucky.

Onto My Day:
Went for lunch with my friend Debbie.
Went looking for a box for the mini.
I bought 2 packs of diapers.....but have yet to start the diaper cake.
Took 2 tiny naps.
Made supper
Picked Kristy up from the movies.
Yup that's about it.
Now time to hit the hay. I have to wake up early for this appointment and I hate getting up early, never mind leaving the house :(

Hope you all had a creative day today.

Mini Finished, video to follow

Well I have finished Matthew's baby boy mini album tonight!!!
It didn't turn out how I had expected, but that seems to happen more times then not, lol.
I wasn't planning on this mini being cutesie.....well that is how it turned out :)
I am still happy with it.
Here is a page from the book.

Here is another page. Beside this page is the baby certificate I got Kristy to make for me.
I will make a video of the mini tomorrow.
Onto my Day:
Finishing the mini album.
And making supper, yup that is about it.
Off to have my last glass of pop. I have to get a Stress Test done on Thursday and am not allowed to drink pop, coffee, tea or have any chocolate for 24 hours. Coffee and Tea no problem...but the pop and chocolate, well I think I have to get someone to hide them on me ;)
Project for tomorrow....Diaper Cake :)

Proud Tuesday:
Finished Matthew's Mini Album
I feel like I can accomplish my goals.
Cleaned up the living room after the mess I made making this mini :)

So what have you done today to make you feel proud?

Still working on Matthew's mini album

Still working on baby Matthew's mini album.
I sure wish I had the Cricut cartridge "Baby Steps". It would have saved me a lot of fussy cutting and playing around with my drawing. And you all know I ain't no artist, lol.
The carriage wasn't to bad as I used my Spellbinders circle and some border punches. The back is to journal. I inked one of my recipe cards for that.

These baby bottles took me all night last night to make. The only pattern I had was a stencil that was 8x10 inches. So I photocopied it and shrunk it down to the size I wanted. Then I shrunk it down a tad more for the pattern paper and the writing journals for the back.

For these onsies I just played around until I came up with a shape that worked. Then used the scallop die for the ruffles. I hope they don't look to girly with the ruffles.
I made the onsies into a flip book.
I attached binding ribbon to the shoulder part of the onsies so they can flip up. I am probably going to add some journal blocks to the backs of them. There are 3 flip pages.
I am hoping that I can finish this up tomorrow, but I think I am getting ahead of myself, teehee.

Onto My Day:
The girls were off of school and work today. Hubby had to go in though.
I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon, so that kind of hindered my time working on the mini.
That's about it for today.
Wish me luck on finishing my mini tomorrow :)

Baby Boy mini in the works

I was up late last night working on this mini and all day today. And all I have to show for it is all the paper is attached to the chipboard, the pages are attached and the front cover is complete.
That pinky/red strip is the tape for the binding. I don't want to attach it until I know how thick the album is going to be.

The frame is again one of those $1.50 frames from Michael's.  I painted it to match the album. I painted first with a dark blue then dry brushed a lighter grey blue on top of it. Happy with how it turned out. The center of the frame comes out if she wants to put a photo of the baby in there. I just put a piece of pattern card stock with this sticker on it, as I don't like the frame to be empty.

I got to use my new Copic's last night (late last night) :)  I coloured these images that Schell gave me. I then punched them out with one of my punches and then backed them with card stock I cut out with my Spellbinder Die.
The white behind them is the backing paper from my Xyron. I hate to waste, so if I have room as I am using it, I stick bits of paper in there as I am adhering bigger pieces.
I then popped the images up with foam adhesive for some dimension.

I have so much more to do and am starting to feel overwhelmed. I know I will get everything done, as I usually do. I should have started this weeks ago.
I will never learn, teehee.

Onto My Day:
I worked on this most of the day, even though I didn't get up till after 11:00.
Kristy made Finn pancakes for supper :)
We went to my SIL, Sharon's for her birthday. She had so much food out, we didn't need to eat at all today, teehee. She sent me home with the rest of the taco salad. She is the only one in her family that eats it. I know what I am having for lunch tomorrow ;)

Hope you all had a nice Easter weekend.

Eggs in a Nest Part II

The eggs in a nest I made yesterday were good. But the ones I made today, were eggcelant. Sorry I just had to, teehee. I took this picture, pretty good if I do say so myself ;)

You wanted the recipe for yesterday's nests. Well it is very easy. I altered the recipe, it is suppose to have ,mini marshmallows in them and different amounts of ingredients. Here is what I used.
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup chocolate chips
microwave them to melt and then added chow mien noodles.
Plopped them on wax paper added 3 Cadbury  Mini eggs to each one. Yup that's it.

Today's recipe is a bit more work, teehee. I only did half of this recipe as I only wanted about 10 of them.
3 cups rolled oats
4 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder
Mix these ingredients together.
Heat on stove.
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
Boil for 1 minute. then add to the dry ingredients. Mix, then form into balls (I used a little ice-cream scope thingy) and drop onto wax paper, then refrigerate. Like I said I only made 1/2 of this.

Look what we woke up to this morning. I know it isn't much, but its still snow :(  Spring is coming I know it is. Mind you I shouldn't really be surprised as this happens every year. But I think winter came early this year and we are all just a bit tired of the snow.

Today I worked on the Baby mini. I just finished binding the pages and putting the pattern papers on the chipboard. You can tell its a boy mini as all the papers are blue :)
I was going to use mint colours, but changed my mind at the last second. Hope I am happy with it.
I brought all my stuff upstairs to work on it, as Hubby wants me to watch movies with him today. Which is nice, except I have to keep running downstairs for something. He turns off the movie and waits for me. Funny as we could probably recite every movie we own....which is a lot.
Guess what type of movies we watched.....if you guessed Zombie movies you are correct, teehee.
Can you believe I haven't even tried any of my new Copics yet!!
Well I plan on doing that tonight. I am going to colour some images that Schell gave me as she gave me some baby images and I think they will go great with this mini. Thanks Schell.http://www.schellscraftcorner.blogspot.com/

I keep thinking that today is Sunday because everyone had Friday off. So happy I am wrong.
Hope your weekend has been a creative one.

Eggs in a Nest.

Today is going to be a short post, surprise ;)
We had our turkey dinner tonight. Just me, Hubby, our girls and their boyfriends. I just wanted to keep it simple. Good thing to, as I had no energy today. I took two naps (mind you one of them was about 5 minutes long, lol). Hubby went out and when he came home he asked Kristy where I was. She told him, I put her down for a nap about 2 minutes ago, lol. Well that was better then putting me out to pasture :)
I didn't get to create today.
Well I guess I did. I made these eggs in a nest. I saw them on another blog ( I searched but can't find who it was) and thought they were adorable. I make these chow mien noodle treats at Christmas, but never thought to put the tiny eggs in them to look like nests. How cute eh?
Ashley took this photo for me with her phone. I'm impressed.
Mind you I did have better formed nests ;)
I think I want to try them with the coconut balls and form them into nests.

I did spent today looking through the mini Pea gave me and the Magnolia magazine. The cards in there are just so cute. I think I may have to scrap lift some of them ;)

Well I am off to bed soon, unless I get a second wind, which seems to happen to me.

Hope you enjoy your weekend.

A beautiful mini from Pea, some Copics with my Peeps

Today was an excellent day. How could it not have been. I found a penny, picked it up and then all day I had good luck :)  Well actually my SIL, Sharon found it and told me to pick it up.
We went over the border today to pick up some parcels.
I phoned and they told me I had 3 parcel's in, not 4. Grrr, I didn't want to go until all the parcel's were there.
Checked my tracking # and it finally showed that it was in...so we were on our way.
When we got there, the lady told me I had only 3 parcels. When I told her that my tracking # said it was in. She wanted to check the tracking #. Well of course I left it at home.
She looked in the back and found my package.
Which I am so thankful for as this is what was in it.
Pea sent me some wonderful happy mail, and this beautiful, stunning mini album. Thank you so much Pea, I am in awe of your talent.

My daughter's ordered 2 video games. And here is my other parcel I was waiting for.
Look at those beautiful colours.
Oh you need a better look? So happy to share with you :)
I love colour. This is like two handfuls of happiness to me.

I was worried about paying duty. I have never picked up my parcel's in the US, so I was not sure on the charge.
As it turned out we got a cute customs officer who explained to me that first we have to have a receipt to prove how much the contents were. I told him we didn't open up the packages and not sure if there is a receipt.
He said what they do is if you have no proof of price, you have to leave the parcel there, then go home and get the receipt (probably print off the computer as it is a online order) come back show the receipt and then take your parcel.
Luckily he let us go...one because I'm cute and was playing ditsy (that was the words of my SIL Sharon, lol) I think it was because I only gave him the price of the video games....I kind of forgot about the price of the Copics...ooops ;)

Look what I had tonight:)
I love Peeps. Well, really I like any treats with marshmallow :)
They are lined up like waiting for the eating squad.

Look this little guy is in tears because he knows whats going to happen to him...yumm.

Thankful Thursday:
I enjoyed my last Pilates class tonight.
I have Pea as sweet friend that sent me this beautiful album that is so personal and stunning
All the treats that Pea sent me
Enjoyed lunch with my daughter and SIL Sharon

What are you thankful for today?

Baby Boy Card...and I my girls now have the colouring bug ;)

I finished my card for the newest baby in the family.
Matthew (that's the new baby) is the first boy born in my Hubby's family in 22yrs. Then 7 girls were born and now Matthew. Girls rule the households, teehee.
Back to my card.
I used the banner die for the word baby. Actually I used my Cuttlebug for all the dies :)
I had to use this coloured image from yesterday as I printed them in different sizes and this is the one that fit the space the best.
This card is a biggie, it measures 6x6".
I lightly inked around the edges to bring out the embossed edge. The banner is a light powder blue with white dots.
 Showing the dimension.
I woke up Sunday morning from a sound sleep with this image in my head....okay it wasn't this exactly. It looked more like the finished card.
Hubby was sitting on the couch, when I ran out of the bedroom yelling..Pen, pen...I need a pen and paper!!
Don't worry he is used to my craziness.
So what do you think? Is it close to the finished card, lol. I never claimed to be an artist :)
Are you a thrifty scrapper like me?
I didnt' want to cut into a brand new 12x12 piece of pattern card stock. I knew this piece was going to be covered up with the blue card stock. So what I do is cut out of the center. Save paper and no one ever knows that there is a piece missing....well now they do ;)

Kristy has been colouring images lately. Mind you hers are full sheets of paper. She has been colouring Pokemon images she finds off the computer.

Heather then wanted to shade, so she found an image that she liked and coloured. I told them both that they could use my GASP...Copics. But they both said no, they preferred to use their pencil crayons.

I offered to buy them some Prisma Pencils, but again the said, No, they are fine with their school pencil crayons.   I thought I could use them as an excuse to get me some.....I mean... them some Prisma's ;)

Onto My Day:
Made a card.
Kept checking to see if my parcels were in..nope not all of them.
Took a nap, so much for those iron pills
Got some groceries
Decided to just have a small turkey with hubby and my girls this Friday.

Hope your day was a creative one :)

Baby Time and some Image swaps.

Well which one do you think?
I got this image from Marlene. Every once in a while she posts images and sentiments that she has created and she lets you download (or is it upload? I can never get that straight) for a limited time. Luckily I nabbed this one before it disappeared.

Well which one? I know that they look similar. See its these little things that hold me back.

You will notice a few baby boy projects on my blog in the near future.
Don't get excited NONE of them are for me....I am done in the baby department.
Hubby's nephew and his wife had a baby boy and my SIL is putting on the baby shower.
So I am going to make a diaper cake for the shower, give aways for the games.
I am going to make a baby boy album and maybe squeeze in some decorations into all this...all by May 2nd.
Sharon says I work well under pressure, lets hope so.
I did know about this shower earlier, but haven't worked on anything yet.

I have a few video's to share with you all.
As you know I have been in a few image swaps. I have asked the ladies if they wanted me to do a video of them. There is some controversy on this issue, so I wanted to make sure they were okay with it.
I received some Happy Mail from Jenn, Louise and Schell.
Thank you ladies, you sure have brightened my days.
Funny thing is everyday I got some Happy mail, today Nothing...not even a bill, okay, I am not complaining about not getting a bill, lol.

Proud Tuesday:
1. went to my last ;(  Reformer class tonight.
2. Didn't take a nap today, maybe those Iron pills really do work ;)
3. Went to my LSS and only picked up the paper I wanted to try :)
4. I cooked Salmon for supper....healthy
5. I got to colour today

So what have you done today to make you feel proud?

Heart mini album Video-I was top 3- Some treasures :)

Here is my video of my Heart mini.
Like I mentioned before I did a give away on my YouTube channel. It was this kit. I made 2 kits, gave one away and kept one. I wanted to see the how 2 people could each make a mini with the same supplies, and see how different they turn out.
If you watch the video.....stay turned to the very end.....there is yet another Twist. Oh I just love surprises :)

I woke up this morning and found out that my "Friends" card was picked as one of Top 3 choices for the Come and Get It Challenge. I was so excited. I had checked out the other ladies cards and didn't think I had a chance. Such talent.

The other day I told you that I went a tad overzealous at my Local Scrap booking Store.
Well here are the treasures.
I'm looking forward to using these Spellbinders dies. I have a project in mind for the Lacey Pennants.
I have yet to ink up any of these stamps. For shame I know.
But I am waiting for my new Copics to come in :)
I am picking them up on Wednesday or Thursday :)

Onto My Day:
I stayed home most of the day. Even took a nap ;)
Cleaned up the house, made supper and caught up on some book work.
Don't I live an exciting life, teehee.

Hope you all had a creative day today.

Mini finished :)

Lots of photo's today as I finished my mini album. I was only going to share a few pages, but am going to do a video for it tomorrow for my YouTube channel, so figured I'd post the whole lot.
This is page 3.
I stickled the bodies of the butterflies and then put some of the sparkle I had in the kit for their heads.
Next page. I cut the felt flower band apart, and used them individually.
This is one of my favourite pages. Half of this page is a pocket. I made a large tag to put in it.
 Dimention shot :)
I wanted to try my hand at this folded page. The bottom flower is holding it closed. I put a magnet on the back of the flower and then on the page, so it is held closed with a magnet.
Here it is open. I covered the magnet with a punched flower.
This page is just pretty simple. No bells or whistles on this one.
I hate that my pictures are not showing the colours very well. This looks more of an orangey pink instead of a burgundy pink.
I made an envelope pocket here. I didn't put an envelope in my kit, so I had to add that one....but I made the rules....I can change them, teehee.
Here is the envelope pocket opened up. I put three tags in.
This is the back of the mini album.
I am happy with how it turned out.
I am not a big fan of bulky albums, but I found large coils for my bind it all, so it doesn't seem as bulky.
I should be working on a mini for hubby's baby nephew. I was requested to make one......mind you I was planning on doing one anyway :) Plus I want to do some other fun things for the baby shower :)

Onto My Day:
Watched Zombie movies again all day, and worked on this mini.
Kristy made muffins for lunch and Hubby made supper. Another perfect day :)

Hope your weekend was as creative as mine was.
